Makan Malacca

Here in Malacca, it's spent eating and relaxing. Our dear Godparents kindly let us stay at their holiday home there. A perfect home away from home...

Yummy Satay Buffet...

Not a buffet actually. We are still charged by the number of sticks we eat, just that they keep replenishing our satay plates whenever it's emptied. This is 1 of our favourite makan haunts. We will try to make an effort to come here - Lee Mei Hiong to makan each time we're in Malacca. MAH-Let loves the chicken satays while MAH-Tai likes the pork satays...and must have the fats! Crispy, slightly burnt exterior with fatty juices exploding from it the moment you bite into it! Yummy! There are also the intestines and liver satays. The smooth peanut sauce has the traditional blended pineapple in it. Something which we can hardly find in Singapore nowadays...Got to go there early as the pork and intestines get wiped out quickly!

Other than satays, we also ate at Aunty Lee's, a peranakan home converted to a mini restaurant. As they have very limited space, we'll need to make a reservation with food order each time we want to dine there. Food is good but pretty pricey. We also ate at Bei Zhan, a Chinese restaurant but reasonably priced. We also had roast duck rice, chicken rice, char siew and roast pork rice, wantan mee, Baba Charlie Lee's Nonya Dumplings...Delicioso! Unfortunately, we didn't get to eat the chendol from our favourite chendol store this time :(

At God-Grandparents Holiday Home...

MAH-Let enjoys being able to swim at the apartment everyday. Each time we're out shopping or eating, she will urge us to go back quickly to "God-por por's house" so that she can swim! It's really a relaxing place to stay in as it has an excellent sea view, constant sea breeze... you can just sit in the living room to read a magazine, watch TV or just sit there and do nothing! Sad to say....the Malaysian Govt wants to reclaim the land there. Wonder why would they need to reclaim land when they have so much land already! Why can't they just leave things as it is! They have so much land elsewhere, go do something to those land lah! Reclaim for what? Sigh...

MAH-Let in the living room

At the Balcony...can you see the awesome sea view here? (Well, maybe not quite) Sometimes, we can even see cruise ships right in front of the apartment! MAH-Ge and MAH-Tai loves watching streaks of lightning flashing across the dark sky on stormy nights. Those dancing lights are truly amazing! Something which we aren't able to catch in Singapore! As we were there during the Hari Raya festive season, we could see fireworks being flared into the sky intermittently from the balcony too.

Horse Riding...

MAH-Let got to ride on a pony along the beach here. It cost only RM$5 for a round. The horses look like they are overworked and underfed...They look skinny. In Singapore, you pay S$5 for half a round at Gallop Stables but you get fatter and healthier looking horses lah.
