1st Day in Perth

We arrived into Perth early in the morning and our friends, Kathryn and Peter were already there. Thank God for them! The weather looked excellent with great sunshine. Looks like a fantastic start to our spring holiday in Perth!

Peter drove their new jeep over. Their car was only supposed to be ready a week later, for the fittings to be done. But they'd decided to collect their car a day prior to our arrival, to bring us around in comfort. How thoughtful!

We got to Roleystone, a beautiful and exclusive residential area in the hills, within 20mins. Surrounded by lots of trees, the air smells crisp and fresh!

We enjoyed a lovely simple breakfast before taking a short snooze to recharge then CHARGE! We're ready to GO!!!

We woke up with the beautiful scent of laksa...wah....feels so at home already. Kathryn and Peter actually went out to the supermarket to get the ingredients for laksa and fixed us lunch! We are so spoilt by them!

It was to Araluen Golf Club and Araluen Botanic Gardens today. Something not too hectic for us...We were at the Araluen Golf Club to hunt for Kangaroos...well, not exactly hunt but to catch a kangaroo in sight, so that MAH-Let can boast that she's seen a kangaroo! She's been wanting to see a joey since the time we said that we're heading to Australia. But alas, all we could find were kangaroos's poo everywhere!

It's the once a year Spring time tulips fest at the Araluen Botanic Gardens! MAH-Tai's favourite flowers! There were so many that I could cry! If only I could bring them home...

We got home in time for Kathryn to prepare dinner for us. Guess what she's making? Nasi Goreng! Can you imagine that? We know how to fry rice but don't know how to make a nice nasi goreng. And I tell you...it was really yummy! MAH-Tai had seconds and that's unusual! Peter prepared chicken satays on his BBQ stove at the verandah. MAH-Let simply loves them! Dinner was deeeeeeeeeeleeeeeeeeeecious!

The yummy Nasi Goreng Istimewa!

Gathering round the table before our dinner.

The conference after dinner

Our lovely travel adviser went through the week's itinerary with us. Kathryn had everything organised for us! Wasn't that just great? We just had to relax and go along with all that she'd arranged! Who needs a travel agent when we have Kathryn Maclachlan? :) Of course, they are also open to any opinions which we might have. We make wonderful travel companions!

Enjoying a glass of wine

MAH-Let's new piano teacher! :)

I wonder if MAH-Let is naturally musically inclined...she plays such beautiful music! She wasn't banging onto the keys but tinkling with her little fingers and gosh, the music sounds so melodious...looks like MAH-Ge might have spend some money to enhance her talent.

MAH-Let serenaded us with her beautiful pieces while we chat in the lounge. Peter also cut some apples to attract the possums. Not many came but we did see some! We chat till we were tired. Tomorrow will be another exciting day! Yahoo!!!
